Is there anywhere in Alsancak where replacement number plates can be obtained and fitted?

Tunç - the Reklam (Advertising) place just off the roundabout at the start of the dual carriageway will make and fit them - I hope that you know what colour you're supposed to get, because there seems to be a 'degree of confusion' on the subject...

I need the required colours for my car to pass the MOT. The plates I have now are faded yellow. What are the Official colours needed ,anyone?

Ours were replaced with white metal ones but I think, according to CT a few weeks back, it won't be law for a while yet.
Put it this way if you change to white metal they won't fade out like the yellow ones.
Ours passed its MOT and I think all newly registered cars have to have the white ones now.

If your plates are the white front/Yellow rear and in good condition you do not need to replace them until 2027! If those plates are faded or damaged in anyway then they will fail the MOT and new plates will be required. If you renew your old white/yellow plates prior to the MOT they remain legal and should pass the MOT. (Note the word should because it is up to the tall man or the fat man). The only other "Legal" plates are the new "Stamped" white front and rear with a blue bit on them and the number of the stamp press embossed into the plates - these cost 100TL a set from anywhere and you will have to have them by 2027 anyway - heaven knows what they will cost by then. The all white plates without the stamping that came about whilst the presses were being delivered are a kind of go between that are legal and illegal on any day of the week. It is Cyprus after all.

And don't forget your mud flaps, the fat one likes to see them as well!!!
