Is anyone else suffering from an abundance of house flies at the moment, since the weather has turned we get literally hundreds of them invading our patio area each day, we spend much time killing them only to have them replaced with new recruits, we have cleaned and disinfected our outside space even using a mild solution of bleach which they seem to love. Just wondered if it is normal at this time of year although don't remember last year being so bad. I know you can purchase fly traps which we did earlier in the year however the chemical stuff inside made the whole garden area stink!!!

Just said to my husband this morning that the house flies are really bad, almost like the bush flies back in Australia. We had very few mozzies in the summer, but the flies are really bad. No idea why either.

I think that we are about a month late with these flies. Because it has been so mild and gotten cold all of a sudden, they are now inside more than ever. Just my opinion.

It happens every year at the start of winter - I have never understood why the cold and rain should bring them out. AND they bite! Nothing to be done really except to ensure food is protected from them. If you have animals , train them to eat up at once not leave food in dishes lying around.

and religiously get your netted doord shut behind you each and everytime you go in or out the house......then........no flies indoors!!
