Does anyone know why there is a helicopter (looks like a private one) going back and forth over the mountains? Thank you

They have been going from end to end and waiting for no rain or high winds to do it. They went over forestry and mountain areas behind us about 6 times, starting really low and then going higher and higher up the mountain. Always plenty of "whatever" every time they went over. Lets hope it works OK for next year.

it is actually a biological(not chemical) spray that only affect pine processionary moth. Nothing else is harmed in the process. Its a proven technology that is used everywhere, North Cyprus Environmental Platform (where most organizations are members of) are closely following the progress.

All spraying area is predetermined as gps maps, and loaded into the spraying system. All the pilot needs to do is to fly over predetermined areas, spraying starts automatically when it come over an area designated for spraying. If helicopter runs out of spray, it reloads from base and the system automatically starts spraying where it has left off.

This is one of those instances where everything is being done as it really should. I know its hard to believe

Pine processionary moth is considered 'flameless forest fire' for pine trees, its particularly very bad in dry countries such as Cyprus. This is the second year they are doing this, 4-5 consecutive year and its victory.

Good for them and congratulations on looking after the environment for once. Good news for dog owners/walkers too.
