Hi everyone, havnt contributed for a while tho I keep checking in to see whats happening. Anyway me and family are out in Cyprus on Sunday for 2 weeks, weve been waiting for a passport. Booked our flight on line yesterday with Thomas Cook, Newcastle to Larnaca £288 each, today on the website £177 each, could have saved over £500 as there are 5 of us and 2 of them are under fives grr grr and grr. I know serves me right for having a peek today just to torture myself but that could have been £500 spending money, if only we had held our nerve for another day, ah well!!

My wife and I use this route very regularly and normally she goes home to Newcastle the first week in October whilst I stay here till mid November ( its a hard life isnt it). In the past her flight was always about £120 single but never more than £150 which is dear enough. This year Thomson didnt release any any single flights so it had to be Fly Thomas Cook and boy were they expensive. Ended up a single from Papahos at £213 with Larnaca being nearer £300.
We have used Monarch in the past to and from Manchester and this year they to were 500 Euros one in October way I kid you not. What a rip off
Needless to say we have changed our plans for next year and her flight is already booked, once bitten twice shy.

Dez wish I could, but have to accompany the wife back to UK to see the family at least once a year.
I am finding that Turkish Airlines and Pegasus are getting more and more competitive especially if you book early and can catch one of their promotional offers, there's also the transfer cost reductions.

I just bought my daughter a ticket to come in December with Atlas meals and drinks included and much bigger seats a bit more money than Pegasus.

We always try and book well in advance to get the best price. Not possible for all we know.
It is personal preference as to whether Larnaca or Ercan is used. For Larnaca we have got good price from Easyjet in March 2013. Have also used Aegean Air on this route and again booked in advance they were very competitive.
For Ercan we have used Turkish Airlines in the past .Being a national carrier the flights are out 11 months in advance which cannot be said for Easyjet, Aegean or Pegasus. Using Turkish next June. Booked with Pegasus for trip next Sept.
Atlasjet is one we will also keep on our radar.

I only knew last week that she could come for Christmas so I couldnt book early. As she has MS she needs extra room on a long flight. Luggage allowance is 20k.

If you can catch the promotions from Turkish Airlines or Pegasus then they knock Easyjet and Monarch out of the picture, but you have to book well in advance to catch them, we got a great deal with Pegasus for going to UK for Christmas, but that was months ago Unfortunately we are flying back from Germany and Turkish airlines are our only option and they don't seem to give the Germans the option of promotional prices, so having to pay standard fares
Looked at some flights to Istanbul for April and Turkish airlines had some promotional fares at 13TL each
