Sterling from the ATM

For some unknown reason I have been unable to get sterling from any ATM machines . Tried at least 8 different ones but only offer Turkish lira. Does anyone have any idea why. Or know where there is an ATM which gives sterling.

We usually get sterling from the ATM at the garage in Alsancak

The two most common reason are that there is no sterling in the ATM or the Internet is down. If you have tried several ATMs with the same result I would suggest it is the latter. Hope this helps.

Don't forget some of them advertise Dollars, Euros, Sterling and Lira on the advertising hoarding but it reality many of them don't dispense other than Lira. To the best of my knowledge only Turkish banks are allowed to dispense sterling in any case.

Does the Garanti bank,along from the lawcourts, dispense sterling anybody??
