Hi - we are removing an old house with thick walls and new double extension with basement.
What is peoples opinion please on the best option for heating and cooling
Option 1
Combination gas boiler for radiators and hot water
Split air con system for cooling
Option 2
Air sourced heat pump system for heating, cooling and hot water.
Option 3
Oil central heating system?
Any advise please - also preference in terms of manufacturers....Thank you

Option 1
Belt and braces on central heating, a/c for cooling. (Also a/c for heating.)
or
Option 2
Daikin Altherma system

Option 3
No cooling.

Option 3- out. dirty, noisy, no cooling. due to hot water needs it runs all year round.
Option 2 – all electric.
means that you have a centralized unit.. which nearly never comes off and with high peak needs , but most probably you have for your house a single phase connection only. Disadvantage of a single unit: if it fails, you have no heating or cooling and no hot water.
Option 1 – (combined) gas boiler for hot water (and radiators or floor heating) + split air con system (also an air sourced heat pump, inverter driven) for cooling (and heating) is “ a widely used solution”. The existence of radiators and piping makes a gas driven heating (maybe with solar thermals preheating) possible later.
Consider that, if you go for option 1 or 2, you go higher in your kibtek tariff (as you use more kWh), so, consider a PV solar net-metering system.
