Well done and thank you for all the good work you are doing there. Is this open to the public and if so, can you give opening times and how to get there, thanks.

Re: Typical Day at Nature Park :)
Is there any way of getting more info about the park for those who dont want to subscribe to Facebook?
I have noted that there is an excellent initiative for disabled people in the picnic area. Is there any way they can see other part of the park,, particularly those with walking difficulty. Can any be accessed by wheelchair or mobility scooter?

Season's Greetings to all.
Woodspeckle, how did your visit to Taskent go? Is it open to the public this week?

Re: Typical Day at Nature Park :)
We went to Taskent today only the picnic area open, a restaurant there too. There is a lot of work going on up there so the road is very rough, at the moment not suitable for disabled scooters or wheelchairs but when finished it will be a lovely place to visit lots of disabled parking spaces and a disabled toilet.
I messaged the wildlife park the reply was they hope to open to the public in February.

My thanks too, Woodspeckle, and lovely to see you today.
Your post has saved me and maybe others a wasted journey, time, effort and money. I understand that although the potential is good ,at the moment there are obstacles which would get in the way of taking wheelchair or mobility scooter from the carpark to the picnic area.

Re: Typical Day at Nature Park :)
I have been reading your comments RR & having driven up there last May to picnic the road up was ok, however parking for disabled is signed, access to picnic areas are still up a hill/mountain is limited. So in my opinion it might not be a place for you to visit, others may have other views .....

If you are coming from the Arapkoy/Montain road, it may be quite narrow at times, although the road is virtually empty and you shouldnt have trouble getting to the picnic site. If you are coming from Lefkosa or through Dikmen village, after you go through the village of Taskent the picnic site is just 1km up, we are widening that part of the road as we speak.
Taskent Picnic site itself offers 12 disabled parking spots, 1 international standard disabled ramp (5% grade) to the a special picnic section where the soil is specially hardened for easy wheelchair movement without sacrificing the natural look. There are 20 special disabled picnic tables, where there are 'slots' for wheelchairs and 3 wheelchairs should be able to fit comfortably around with a total capacity of 8 people each. Picnic site also offers wheelchair slides and wheelchair swing next to the picnic section. Disabled section is always free (no table charge)
Approx 20 meters from the disabled picnic area there is a market/restaurant/cafe. You can just park in front of it (if you are disabled) and the floor is paving stone with outdoor sitting areas for cafe/restaurant. Market is wheelchair accessible and there is also a disabled bathroom there. Beer is just 6TL
We have people there who would be more than willing to help if you need any assistance.
All that being said, we have really tried hard to allow disabled people of this country to come and be part of nature just like everybody else, if we just paved everywhere with cement it would be losing the point. We did not want to overdo any part of it, so we hope you can visit us and provide us with detailed feedback where we can improve upon to make this a good experience for everybody.
---
Nature Park, on the other hand, is just 300meters up from Taskent village on the way to the picnic area and it is not yet open to public. We are planning to open some parts of it to public in spring 2018.
Note: Taskent Picnic site is run by Taskent Nature Park, which is a non-for profit entity. All money generated by the Picnic site is used towards charity.
