A friend of mine passed her driving test in the TRNC, but doesn't have a UK driving licence.

She can drive in the UK for up to 90 days on this licence. Its also valid for Turkey, but not in Bulgaria or Greece, that much we know however.....
She is planning to go to Australia in a few months time. Checking on the internet it says you can drive in Australia on a foreign licence for up to 90 days (ie. as with UK) but if the licence is not in English you need an International Driving Permit.

Is there an IDP issued in North Cyprus? Is it in English? and where can you get one?

(I know a lot of Turkish Cypriots visit relatives 'down under' , so I'm hoping someone here knows the answer).

Having visited Australia in since the notifications about Driving licences, I used my TRNC licence to hire a car without any problems.

In advance of my visit i queried notification with the Victoria Roads Authority - they were not aware of what a TRNC licence looked like, but stated as long as there was a photograph on the licence and that it was in english it would be OK.

Being a cynic - i took my UK licence just in case, but it wasn't needed.

Enjoy your visit
