Bars on Christmas eve

I always used to think that the best night out in the UK was Christmas eve. Never any bother always a good atmosphere. I always go looking for something similar here but always as dead as a dodo. I am not looking for little Britain but do find it odd that there is not a spot where brits are drawn to for Christmas eve.

Findings tonight:-

Only two people in Lokmans for fish and chips
Red Lion Closed
Pulled up at Dostlar 4 people inside 2 were smoking despite no smoking signs, this was out go-to destination tonight and we would have more than doubled the population however indoor smoking a no go. When will they learn.
Soulist and Shboom closed

Montenegro 6 inside, 2 outside (smoking area). Nice welcome friendly way out of my way but seemed like a nice little bar.
Bentleys, clean tidy and OK, visit there mainly because Kennan has always worked hard at looking after his customers.

So quiet night out, feel there is something that could be tapped in to. Merry Christmas to all.

always found christmas eve quiet here apart from the days of the night jar and the stage but I was in my late 30's then. Being on a sunday must of been deadly...... older population etc so younger population heads to town

Funny as I was always the opposite on xmas eve, it was one of the times I'd stay in , wrap the presents ready for the kids early rise, I couldn't have faced them after a night out.

Anyway, you need to ask yourselve would those bars be that much busier on a winters night anyway? We went into town &a it was busy, Onyx had a 3/4 full crowd so maybe you need to look elsewhere , only a thought .

Montenegro was buzzing in the afternoon, packed with great atmosphere! We tend to go out in the afternoon rather than evenings.......
