Belated Happy New Year

Hi
Just wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year.
I am afraid i don´t visit the forums much now, still getting used to life in Portugal.
Wish everyone a health and happy new year and good weather in the not too distant summer months.

Loose boots I seem to remember you went to Panama or somewhere like that. Why the move to Portugal? Would be interested to know the reasons. How many people I wonder have left Cyrprus and now wish otherwise.

We moved to Portugal about 18 months ago as Prices in Panama were increasing at an alarming rate plus the Panamanians party every weekend and all weekend so , reluctantly we changed to Portugal.
The benefits here is that, like Cyprus, we could buy an affordable property, the food is so much better here than both Panama and Cyprus, the weather in the summer is good.
A big plus is that because of the special relationship between Portugal and the U.K. I qualify for FREE healthcare in the U.K. and I get my cost of living increase on my U.K. Pension. I also get free Portuguese health care.
We live near a town called Torres Novas which has as good and sometimes better weather than The Algarve.
So for us it's a good move.
