Can somebody tell me the latest procedure for residency renewal please, particularly how many stamps we require. Thank you.

If your renewing your residency you only need stamps when you get to Lefkusa which you can buy in the cafe there and they know exactly what you need, that's what I always do, once I've got my ticket, go in the cafe get a cup of coffee and my stamps. No hassle and no worries about having the right amount.

Firstly Muktars letter depending on where you live it is between 0-20tl!
You need to take your passport with you and a 1.5tl stamp.

Next Police Station.... with passport, blue/ pink book if not first residency, 2 passport photographs and photocopies of the following,

Bank statement
information / picture page of passport
previous years residency page of passport
Kocan or sales agreement for property
Marriage certificate
original Muktar letter
Stamp duty paid letter
Land Registry document.

Police station will give under 60's paper to go to hospital for X-Ray and bloods and tell you to then take the results(unopened) to Lefkosa in approx 4weeks if no problems!
I copied this from another forum I think it's right

I know the requirement varies, but I have never been asked for our Marriage Certificate, Stamp Duty Paid letter,or Land Registry Document (maybe because I have my Kocan). I am NOT saying that these are not required, simply that I have never been asked for them.

Sorry to be a complete pain again but I understand that if you are over 60 and have previously been granted temporary residency you no longer have to go to the police station to complete the first stage of your renewal.

Can anyone please confirm this to be correct.

Thanks

If you are over 60 and renewing residency then go straight to Immigration in Lefkosa.

If have let residency lapse and wish to renew you have to start from first base with all documents and hospital tests.

In 7 renewals never been asked for marriage cert, stamp duty or any other such. Nor stamps, however you mukhtars letter MUST be stamped.

At police station you will be advised of cost and stamps required to take to immig.

Little extra to previous post - (renewals for over 60's) as well as Muhktars letter remember your little blue (or pink) booklet - (the one that the police used to keep and you got back when you went with your passport to Nicosia) and of course passport - and that should be that - oh yes, MONEY!

Just to advise that after getting our Mukhtar letters this morning went to Girne police station with my better half ( as being under 60 still has to go there ) armed with the usual docs PLUS a copy of her BLOOD DONOR CARD and was told by the nice Police man that she did not have to get an X - ray done.

I realise that the proof of the pudding will be when we go to Immigration in Lefkosa in a couple of weeks to pay for residency that we will know we were told the truth.
But thought I would share that with you.

Wow Loose Boots!! Maybe they've changed things again without telling us (not unusual) do let us know what happens when you go to Immigration in Lefkosa - I do hope they dont send her to the local hospital for an Xray!!

Went for mine about 3 weeks ago (under 60) and had to have one-makes you laugh doesn't it?
The very friendly guy that did mine made no effort to hide behind any sort of screen when he did it.
He must glow in the dark!
