Cost of phone calls from land line to UK

Does anyone know how much a phone call from here(TRNC) via a landline to the UK is. Thanks

Here's the
TARIF page of the Telecommunications Dept, if you can make sense of it - note that KDV (VAT) is added at 16%...
For comparison, calls via Skype to a UK landline cost 1.7p per minute, and calls to a mobile number cost 17p per minute - or at least, they did, the last time that I checked

I have a Skype package, think £2 per month unlimited UK landlines.

Calls from a landline are very reasonable, I ring the UK several times every week and my bill is usually about 60 TL per month including the standing charge.

Thank you everyone. I did have Skype and viber on my mobile and used both to make free or cheap calls to UK. Last year Skype stopped "supporting " my make of phone(windows Nokia Lumia) with no warning. Last week viber did the same thing. So I am going to get a new phone either here or UK. Definitely not a Nokia or windows phone though ! I am now going to look at the tarifs

Just be aware any mobile purchased outside of the TRNC will be subject to a tax. You may wish to consider a 2nd hand smart 'phone here where there is no tax.

Kedicat, as a matter of interest, what Windows version is on your phone? Mine is Windows 8.1 update, Skype no longer works on it, but, at the moment Viber still does.
I use Skype on my laptop and tablet, and also have the WhatsApp and Viber desktop versions on laptop, as I find it easier to use a keyboard to type on, rather than fiddling on the phone unless totally necessary. However, you do have to have the latter two on your phone for the desktop versions to work.
I was furious when Microsoft withdrew Skype support for the phone a while back, and never again will I get a Windows phone. I would ditch Skype too if I could, but it's what my parents use to keep in touch with me. Introducing them to new stuff now is just not going to happen.

Alphamike. My phone is Nokia Lumia with Windows 8.1 update. After a lot of hassle trying to get an answer from Viber(their website is nearly as bad as Skype for getting help) they said almost word for word what Skype said last year. Viber is no longer being supported on windows Nokia phones with 8.1 update and no plans for any future support. My tablet is a windows Microsoft Surface and I couldn't update it to the Windows 10. Same with the phone. So Skype and Viber don't work on either now. Whatsapp is still ok for now !!

kedikat2903, I don't know why you couldn't update your Surface tablet to Win 10 - I'm using a Surface Pro 4, which was originally supplied with Win 8.1 installed, and it was successfully updated to Win 10.
There were minor issues with a couple of Apps, but at least it does run Skype without any problems.
It might be worth pursuing...

I am guessing the OP has a surface RT, which is different from a surface or surface pro. The former ran windows RT - a cut down version of windows that is now unsupported by MS and there is no MS upgrade path from surface rt/ win rt to 'normal' windows be it 8 or 10 afaik.

Yes, Erol is right. No more upgrades after 8 on my Surface RT and now same thing is happening with my phone.

Mine too is a Nokia Lumia and is a 925. It's one of the models that didn't update to Win10, despite some people saying they have managed to do a work around, not worked for me. Thanks for the heads up on Viber, expect to lose that too soon then. What gets me is that it's a dashed good phone and suits my limited purposes well, or rather did. I'm lucky in that my tablet and laptop are both fine with Skype. Expect that I will have to get another phone at some point, if I want to continue using WhatsApp and Viber.
