My friends have come on holiday and have fallen in love with a street dog. They have been to see KAR who have advised them how to get it shipped back to the UK. They can afford the injections and the shipping - but what they can't afford is the pay to get it housed at KAR for the 4and months it will take .......
they asking if anyone is perpared to take the pouch in for 4 and half months - which of course they will pay for food and any expenses...but not the value of 900 gbp......
so - if you can help - please contact me
libby 0533 842 1383............please someone with a heart.....please!

Sorry can't take in, would it be cheaper at other kennels ?
As a last resort maybe a POUCH fund could be set up to pay for kenneling. I would gladly make a contribution.

I am sorry that you are struggling to find help but I can see why
What if some kindhearted person decided to do this and then the couple changed their minds, 4.5 months is a long time, people lose their jobs, face a family or spousal death and then the fosterhome is stuck with a dog they do not want to/or simply cannot keep long term.
Difficult situation...I agree that a fund could be set up, I also would contribute to it. The poor dog would be very miserable though in kennels for such a long time.
Difficult situation and extremely difficult solution.
Good luck!

Libby there might be people who would help, however as previously stated it is an awful lot to ask someone to do. People do change their minds unfortunately, as time goes by. With winter coming up it would mean the dog being in a house much more than in the summer and all that entails, particularly if they have dogs already. What sort of amount were they thinking of paying a foster carer ( know they have said they would pay but how much) and how much would they be prepared to pay for potentially high vets bills should the dog become sick in the meantime. I'm always delighted to hear that a holiday maker is prepared to take an animal back to UK and I do wish them well.

What kind of dog is it, is it a complete mongrel or an obvious cross breed and if so what with and how large? What sex? And how old? Will it be neutered and up to date with vaccinations?
Would your friends be prepared to leave a large (returnable) deposit against Vets bills or non return?
If a home and feeding could be found, would someone else be prepared to spend half an hour or emore a day excercising and help with grooming.
NB in my experience dogs straight off the street are not so difficult to train and deal with generally as those who have been long term in kennels.

Glad that's sorted Libby. One more street dog going to have to learn English. Great news.
