Ripped off homebuyers

I was reading a short article online about house buyers who had invested in the Amaranta Valley by fraudulent developer Gary Robb. It was too brief an article to get a scope of the size of this scam.
It seems the govt. will be compensating those who experienced the loss. But I wonder, did they ever get to occupy their homes, what became of the dwellings and how big of a development was it?

It was an absolutely MASSIVE scheme - a lot of people lost their life savings, and although the TRNC Government has been promising that (some) compensation will be forthcoming, I don't think that anyone is holding their breath...
There were a lot of posts about it on a now-defunct forum
here

Is it April 1st??
Where will the government get money from? Robb made sure all cash disappeared helped by his crooked Cypriot lawyers, politicians etc. I don't suppose any of the properties are in any state to be completed having been derelict for about 12years.
Given this was formerly GC land and the GC have already prosecuted Robb I would be certain that they would be picking up a real stink with any North Cyprus government interference.

I can only suggest that you 'Read and Learn' - as to what will happen, that's anyones's guess...
MY guess is zilch, nada, nothing...
I do hope that I'm wrong!

I seem to recall some case or legal action where the National Crime Agency were pursuing Gary Robb in connection with "proceeds of crime", and victims of his frauds were involved - a quick search found
this.
This of course is not connected to any TRNC "promise/undertaking", and I don't know whether the victims did ever recover even a small proportion of their money....

I have copied this from another site, I believe this offers some guidance as to what has happened with the Robb case. Obviously a lot of people are still owed a vast amount
those who were unaware of how the money intercepted by SOCA so long ago was distributed by the court, I can give you an idea but the Data Protection Act protects the recipients names and the size of their individual awards.
I can tell you that NCA was given an amount from the intercepted money which was greater than any individual recipient.
Robb, as we have been told, allegedly received £50,000 to allegedly to cover his costs. How bizarre is that?
The largest individual award was just over £57,000.00 and the smallest just over £5,600.00. The rest of the 57 successful claimants received sums between the highest and the lowest award.
Of the 71 claimants, 57 were successful.
This is the latest news bulletin from the NCA
