According to TRNC Government edict, public working hours from 19 Feb - 14 May are:

Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri: 0800 - 1230, 1300 - 1615.
Thu: 0800 - 1230, 1300 - 1730.

However, being the TRNC - ???

You didn't mention which particular tax you needed to pay...

I think that the times that tomsteel posted are probably correct for the officem, but the car tax section closes an hour earlier at lunchtime - not sure when they re-open in the afternoon, or what time they cease dealing with the Public.

I always say to people 'Get there EARLY'!!

The tax/MOT section closes at 11.30 to 1pm. The rental tax section and payment section closes 12.15 to 1.30pm.

I need to renew my driving licence, so does that come under road tax and Mot ?

It's in the same section - on the left as you go through the door, but as I've not paid attention to the driving licence section, I honestly couldn't say.

Just go early, get it done, and then the rest of the day is yours, rather than going back and forth trying to catch them 'open'

Yes it is part of that section. As you go in go round the corner to the left hand side of the MOT/tax bit and it's the last window. The ladies are very helpful. You need 2 photos and a photocopy of the photo page on your passport (doesn't say this on the form but you do). You can get copies done upstairs in the canteen for 1TL.

Thank you everyone, paper work now done, so just have to wait 20 days if I am lucky for my new licence.

Went to uplift mine today after 22 days only to be told maybe a week Friday, maybe the machine operator is on a go slow after not being paid!!!

Can anybody confirm where this tax office is with directions as we need to renew our car tax, thanks in anticipation.

The search facility gives more than adequate details of location and opening times.

Sorry I must have lost my marbles as all I can find is directions to Nicosia office not Girne.
