Getting car parts from Japan

I am considering ordering some car parts direct from Japan and they can deliver here by courier either via the South or Turkey. I am wondering what happens regarding paying import duty. How does this work and how much would it be (parts are valued at approx £450)? Does anyone have any experience of this?

I've had car parts delivered here and to the south - the customs is expensive both sides - cant remember exactly how much this side as it was years ago but i do remember saying never again!
Had something delivered a couple of months ago to the south and I think it was in the region of 30% duty - and you pay it on the delivery too!
hope that helps
