I have copied this from the soon-to-close Glencoe Forum, as it will be of interest to many: -

A couple who were held up at gunpoint and were tied up while robbers ransacked their holiday villa, will see some justice done as the perpetrators have been caught, the police also recovered a gun and a crowbar and they believe that the same trio are responsible for several other break-in's and attacks on cash machines in the area.

I can see how some people would think one of the assailants was a 'Brit' one of them is fair skinned with red/ginger hair and does not fit the usual Turkish or Cypriot description, I have seen him around the village on a number of occasions and thought he was 'European' myself.

Nice bit of reporting KeithCaley - let's hope the little s**ts get the book thrown at them by the court. The poor victims must have been terrified, but now they can watch their attackers quaking in court

I was surprised that the robbery was reported in the uk paper . Was on facebook talking to my mum and she asked me about it , I asked her how she knew and she said she had read it in the paper . I can now tell her the latest .

Hope they get what they deserve .

Which UK paper was it in? Was it in Cyprus Today?
I bet that the victims will never want to holiday in Cyprus ever again.

Also any international press release is adverse for tourism, so not helpful to Cyprus or TRNC economy. That is what has happened here in Egypt & Sinai due to all the post impact violence and demonstrations post Arab Spring - no tourists of the volume that there used to be so no work, no businesses = crime increasing
