There is also one to the rear of Karaoglanoglu, you can hear it from the dual carriage way. You might have looked at that one and want some comparisons?

I use Girne Gun Club, between GAU and the new Mr Pound. You will need your own shotgun but they supply 1 box of cartridges and the cost is about 40tl. Only open Saturday from 11am until sunset, Tuesday and Friday from 3pm until sunset.

Hi Tim, yes Girne Gun Club is clay pigeon and they have many various traps to shoot from/at.
Getting a gun and licence is relatively easy but you need to be Turkish Cypriot, hold a Kimlik and have a clean criminal record.
Kind regards, Kerim

I assume if you can borrow one it is ok to use one if not a Cypriot is it?

I am not sure, you would have to ask the staff at the gun range but people get very sensitive and precious about their guns!

I have shot at the Girne Gun Club near GAU as a guest of a TC who kindly allowed me to use his O/U albeit a few years ago. The local 28gm cartridges are rather strong on the shoulder. You need to take your own ear defenders. It was a 'compac' layout. I'd enjoy having the opportunity again if anyone has the right contacts.

thanks for the information, so it seems impossible to own a gun for clayshooting , I am English but have residency stamps in passport, own property here, no police record. perhaps if a shotgun is kept at a club it is possible??

we had to purchase the gun first before we applied for our licence, Tas at the gun shop helped my husband fill in the form and after choosing the gun he completed his part and then trotted off the police station. I was concerned about purchasing an item before the licence.. Foreigners I can confirm are no longer allowed to hold a hunting licence.
