I am asking whether anyone is having problems with NTV this evening? We live in Ozankoy and its shocking to say the least! Going off every few minutes. Have rebooted and checked out the normal procedures.

My Internet speed is OK, so it can't be a general issue - and NTV seems fine here in Alsancak.

If your Intenet speed is low, it could be due to a fault - best ring them now, while the symptoms are apparent, and get 'em to check to see what's causing it...

Update!

NTV just stopped - I started it again, and then it stopped again. It had been running fine up to the point when I posted about it

Internet speed is still OK though, so it looks as though it's an NTV issue...

I have been having problems with BBC Iplayer on and off for a few weeks, but tonight has been a nightmare. I am with Multimax and use their VPN but also have MPN VPN, both have been working fine for the past few weeks, although I stopped downloading from the Iplayer as even though the programme was downloaded I constantly get buffering. So, started streaming instead, with just a few instances of buffering. Tonight the whole thing has gone haywire. Doesn't matter which VPN I use, I am either told it is unavailable, even though the VPN is connected, or the programme tries to start, but constant buffering, then it tells me I have insufficient bandwidth. Gave up in the end. Multimax are saying on their website that they are trying to resolve the problem with BBC I player, but, as it is the same with my other VPN this would suggest it is not Multimax. Maybe BBC have found a way to stop us watching, but, the internet as a whole seems very slow too. Hey Ho, back to watching DVD's.....

This description rings alarm bells with me. There have been some problems with BBC iPlayers download system as they upgraded it, leading to downloaded content not playing properly - like it just shows a black screen. However if you mean you have downloaded content from BBC and once it has finished downloading, and you play it, it starts playing and and then stops and stutters and then starts again (what I would call buffering) - then this means with 99.5% certainty that the problem is with the device playing the content and not with the internet connection.

Just to let you know, Erol, you were right. So far, downloads appear to be working ok on the new laptop. Thanks for passing on that info.

You are welcome and thanks for the feedback.

Buffering indicates 'something can not keep up'. The something can be the internet connection can not keep up delivering the images quick enough. Or it can be that the internet is delivering the images quickly enough but the computer can not display them quick enough.

Downloads can be 'corrupted' but this typically means they either will not play at all or they play until a certain point and then stop and the point at which they stop is always the same every time you try with that download.

In fairness NTV have mailed me apologising for the recent problems and have credited me with three days viewing.

That makes a change you usually have to fight like hell to get anything from them.

I might be wrong but I believe they automatically credited everyone that had an active sub at the time they had these issues with 3 days.
