Hi Kerry, you learn something everyday. Still nothing there but I do have a question. If there was a message there would that same message appear on my normal Hotmail inbox? I think my cats are more computer savvy than me!

The envelope icon is just for sending an email to another Member, not for viewing emails which have been sent to you.

If another forum member sends an email to you by clicking on the envelope icon beneath your name/location, etc. then that email will be sent to the email address that you registered when you joined the forum - in your case, that is presumably your hotmail email account.

If the email does not appear in your hotmail inbox, don't forget to check your 'spam' or 'junk' or 'bulk mail' folder - the filters do get a bit confused sometimes, and treat stuff as spam!
