I have been plagued with these pigeons for years and finally grew to about thirty I used a sticky glue before which helped for a while but no longer. I went to superhome and paid about 6euros for a large spray can of flortis came home sprayed the whole can on all my window sills and aircon units. Next day nothing even on the block next to me now a week later one solitary pigeon on the roof of the next block so perfect . A nice quiet wake up in the morning and no mess to clean up. Oh and for the snowflakes no dead birds either.

flortis ..... what? They make all sorts under that name... you might as well have said ICI! I would point out re your snowflake comment - a poisoned creature seldom dies next to the source....

I'd never heard of it but it only took a few seconds to do a quick 'Google'...

Hi Groucho I assumed the clue would be easily spotted in the subject ie pigeon repellent however it's on the tin pigeon repellant. As regards the snowflake comment there are no dead birds within 150 meters of my location and to note I class pigeons in the same category as rats sorry if you are offended

They can be a nuisance, I accept and understand... I would add that it is us humans who have invaded their space - then built handy roosting places and are then offended when they make use of them.

I would be happy to hear the long-term effectiveness of this remedy... as many members have tried a variety of measures with diminishing results.

Spikes on rooftop works for us.

They rarely come any lower than 6 foot off the ground as the cats are on patrol.

Mind you the cats have to be persuaded to leave as well so a water pistol is preferred option. If this doesn’t register with them then the catapult seems to persuade them.

I would imagine that could be an expensive option in the long term, do you give every cat a water pistol?

We bought a scary bird, no pigeons for us, just our neighbours......

I should imagine cats taste of kitekat or fishy and seem quite bony so I will stick with the pigeon
