I have just watched series 1 and 2 of The Killing and quite enjoyed it, it had so many twists and turns in it.
Does anyone know of anything else worth watching?
Winter is coming and I like to get stocked up on programmes

Yes Breaking Bad the best series ever made, once you have watched it all other TV series will seem dull compared to it, there are 5 series and they can all be downloaded from Torrentz.com it was voted by independent critics as the best TV program out there.

Breaking bad definitly the best. There are 4 series completed and half of series 5 with the other half to be screened in march 2013.

Luther series 1 and 2. I think there are only 10 episodes in total but well worth watching. The Killing is good but it is sooooooooooo slowwwwwwww it drives me mad!

Homelands is absolutely brilliant. Sat up all night watching series 1 (14 episodes I believe it was), as it's so addictively twisty. Hubby is a star and has now downloaded episodes 1-4 from series 2 . So it's another late night for me
Also Game of Thrones - series 1 & 2 are already out and also good viewing. If you like to read books 1 - 5 are downloadable and the story line is a bit different at times from the T.V. series. Wishing you hours of enjoyable viewing. I will be checking out The Killing so thanks for that tip

I am now checking out Homelands and Luther, thank you both for your suggestions.
JoandJelly: you said exactly what my husband thought re: the slowness of The Killing, but I didn't mind and it kept me guessing right to the end.
Sophie: Bless you but I do think I will give Judge John Deed a miss, Martin Shaw has never done anything for me

We have recently seen Spooks - brilliant, but probably a lot of you have already seen that series.
Revenge was another really good series.
Just finished watching Damages
Would recommend all the above.
Will look out for The Killing, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones. Many thanks.

Other half watches Game of Thrones. Series one should have a health warning, some of the violence is a bit graphic and as for the sex scenes.......I just could not leave the room!!!!!!
Her favourite is Dexter, next series starts shortly on Dodgy. She is not sleeping in anticipation.

Yes, agree with you CyprusisHome that Game of Thrones is a bit OOOh La La - bit too much titillation at times. But still addictive viewing - for the whole story line & not just for the sexy scenes before anyone responds !!
Making a list up from everyone else's recommendations and telling 'him indoors' to start search & download procedures. So thanks for the thumbs up on other series which I look forward to watching.
Bert - I will check your recommendation out - as a Geordie myself (born in South Shields) but without the accent as I moved to Kent as a baby. I will give him scores out of 10 on the accent if I get to watch it .

Its all about 4 lads brought up in Newcastle in the 60's and takes them through to the 90s and depicts thier lives families etc etc through each decade and the polotics of same periods. excellent series one not to miss. will be interested to know if you think his accent is authentic, I thought it was pretty good

Did you mean Revenge was extinct? We got it recently and there is a new series downloading at present.
It should be available through Torrent.

in what way do you mean you have to log in each time do you for each post or each time you come back to the site

I am experiencing the same problem - sometimes have to log back in several times to send a post successfully. I copy my post now so if I get 'bounced out' I can log in again & paste my reply instead of doing the work again. I thought it was just the rubbish internet via dongle here causing the problem
Gemini39 I don't know if this will help or if it even is the cause of the problem. When I send a reply I now take the tick out of the 'attach signature' box that is below the message box & just above where you click submit. I just leave a tick in the notify box and then I seem to have less problems. maybe it's just coincidence, but give it a try - also for the mods could that be causing glitches? I will leave that to you experts

When we were still in UK there was a brilliant series called The Cell. If it is still available & you like twisty turny terroristy plots then it well worth downloading

Thank you everyone, I have downloaded the first series of all the above suggested programmes to try them out and I am now looking forward to January when our cold, wet evenings start.
The only one I cannot find is Hunted - the BBC series as mentioned in msg 18, anyone know a link to download it as I can only find the trailer for it?
Re: The Game Of Thrones - I didn't realise it came in book form until I was in Best Seller Book Store yesterday and saw it, might be a good Christmas present for someone.

Hi Scoobydoo. Yes the books are really addictive reading. I list below the titles of each book to help you find them in the order they were written - I have taken them from my little jot pad so I may have abbreviated them slightly, but the titles should still be easily identifiable - hope it helps to locate them
Released and can be found on downloads
Book 1. The Game of Thrones
Book 2. A Clash of Kings
Book 3. Storm Swords
Book 4. Feast of Crows
Book 5. Dance with Dragons
Not yet released but in pipeline for publication
Book 6. The Winds of Winter
Book 7. A Dream of Spring

Thank you annanirvanna,
I will look for those on the internet because whilst I have downloaded the first tv series, I am not sure this is what my hubby will watch, so it maybe better to read the books.

Hi
The hunted is on BBCi player it's part way through first series. Plots good although acting a bit dodgy, lots of pouting lips from the female main character....Botox me thinks !! It's made by the same people as spooks which I loved. Hopefully you can download. It's on a Thursday night and next episode 6 of 8
