Looking for an alternative to the fixed PVC fly screens, sure there must be an alternative mesh type product available. Any advice?

Used to use them in the summer in the house in the UK, and they worked well there, but we didn't have sandflies or mosquitoes. Would love there to be a finer gauge here for fly screens, as tiny insects can still get in.

You can also have those hanging bead type curtains for doors, which are supposed to deter insects, but have no idea if they work or not.

Someone suggested to me that spraying that type of bead curtains with repellant or Insecticide (or was it both?? ) increased their effectiveness...

Never tried it, so can't vouch for it!

So this going to sound a bit wacky.... Whilst in the Karpaz we noticed a food and drinks stall had clear plastic bags filled with water dangling around the edge... when I enquired 'who has nicked all the goldfish?' they explained that the water-filled bags are a fly deterrent .. when I looked around - there were none!
