Want to stop Emails coming on to my mobile

At sometime in the past I must have ticked the wrong box(s) and all emails for both my email addresses are coming on to my mobile. To say the battery is being used up quickly is a gross understatement!! I've tried YouTubing the problem but couldn't figure it out, tried Google but that didn't seem to work. I'm sure it can't be that difficult and its just me being a nerd. Any help out there?

Settings > Applications > All >
Then 'tap' on the email app that is being used, and then on 'force stop'
The email app will cease to function until you do a 'restart'
There are more 'elegant' ways of doing it, by turning off 'Synching' but you might struggle doing that

Thank you for being so confident as to my ability to "struggle" and my inability to understand "elegant" Will give your first suggestion a go.

better way (imo) is to remove the relevant email account. From settings go to accounts (recent samsung call this cloud and accounts then accounts). Find the email account you want to remove, next to the icon for the mail program you use (your email may be used for accounts other than email - things like dropbox or other apps). Then select it and select remove account.
However I would say having an android phone linked to a gmail email account is a very useful thing. Saved my bacon a couple of time when I lost phones whilst away from home. Just buy new phone - link it to your gmail account and bingo - things like your address book are restored and even txt message history and what apps you had on the old phone. Like I say this saved my bacon on more than one occasion.

I can understand what you say but as one of my gmail accounts is that one to go into as it is the back up of the other and vice versa. My real problem that KC is trying to help me with is the fact that I want to stop Emails appearing on my mobile as well as laptop and Kindle. I'm having to re charge twice a day (its not an old phone). KC has told me not have Wifi permanently switched on and to removed loads of Apps I don't use. Sadly most of them are embedded by Google and can't be removed. We'll get there in the end I feel sure.

To stop emails appearing on your (presumably windows) laptop - simply do not run the email program and do not go to web pages that give web based access to your email account ? Not sure what you mean about the kindle ? Afaik the only way of getting email on your kindle is to use it's in built browser to access your email via the web based portals ? So just do not go to these pages on your kindle and your email will not appear on the kindle ?
Stopping emails appearing on an android phone (or apple/IoS for that matter) is harder. Android OS by design has the concept of an integrated email account much more and deeply built in to the the operating system itself. You can just remove your email accounts from the android device and this will stop it showing you emails but this will limit the functionality of the phone. For example you will not be able to download new apps from the google play store without an attached email account. Or you could do as KC suggests and look to disable the the email apps on the device itself. This you would have to do every time you rebooted the device. You will not be able to remove the standard android mail app entirely and permanently and probably can not remove third party email apps that came with your phone (like samsung mail). So all you can do is disable them each and every time you start the phone up from being fully off.
