My NTV menu has started to show a clock icon against certain, but not all, channels.
I don't know what this means and neither do I know how to benefit from it.

It would be a good idea if an on-line FAQ for NTV was available.

Hello,
Very good to see that improvements we are doing on our system is being noticed The clock icon means these channels are available for timeshift.

Timeshift means that those channels are automatically recorded (yes, everything!) and you can access previous programs whenever you like for up to a week.

This is how it works
1. watching a program thats already ended.
on the main channel list screen, press right arrow key to get into the tv guide.
use arrow keys to locate a previous program you like to watch, click OK button on remote and start watching right away

2. downloading a program thats already ended (required a usb stick)
insert a usb memory stick to any of the available usb ports
press right arrow key to get into the tv guide.
user arrow keys to locate a previous program to download. click yellow button to start downloading
(download takes some time, you can follow progress under media browser menu)
once download is finished, you can watch this show any time you like on your box, take the usb to your computer and watch there or just give it to a friend, up to you.

3. pause to continue later
At any time during the show or while watching a prerecorded show, you can use the controls on your remote to rewind, FF, play and pause programs.
You can, while watching your show, hit pause key, then attend to your business and come back to continue where you left off. Check attachment for the keys you need to use for these operations.

Please note that timeshifting is a recently added feature and is in beta stages, all functions may not be available at all times. This is also not yet oficially a standard feature of the NTV package.

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

Tried example 1. Got as far as "Click OK button...." but nothing happened. Screen stayed on tv guide page.
Where did I go wrong?

1. You cannot choose any future programs
2. You cannot choose programs thats been aired less than 1h ago
3. Currently we have about 2 days of programs recorded, if you choose a show thats been aired earlier than that, it wont work
4. Make sure you are trying this with one of the channels that has a clock next to it (only those are recorded)
5. It may (sometimes) take several seconds for it to come on screen, give it some time.
6. Let your wife try it

K.
