How much do you pay for your water? In Gecitkale our water price has come down to a fixed 4tl per ton.

No infrastructure yet in our area of Esentepe (Bahceli/Kucuk Erenkoy border) so water is tankered in at 20 TL per tonne. Drinking water is from Tatlisu at 1.5 TL per 19 litres bottle.

Where do you get your drinking water from @ 1.5 TL for 19 litres? I'm paying 5TL for 19 litres in Esentepe.

Good grief TS, that's third world way to live. Is it down to your Mayor who seems to be made of Teflon?

As stated, from Tatlisu. There is a 24/7 facility opposite the Belidiye office.

Our Mayor wants over 5.7 K TL per house for infrastructure costs to provide pipes and a meter. Once the pipes reach the already in existence estate tank, each house has to then pay another sum for connection and £100 deposit if further work is required after and we are responsible for maintenance costs for on-site pipes. Total per house - approx 6.5 TL, and not a drop of H2O guaranteed.

His greed has been met with general refusal to comply, hence the tankers' need.

Hi Soner,
Has the priced dropped because you have a new mayor??
Seems to be 5tl per tonne in Catalkoy/Ozankoy. But think it is OLD water not NEW Turkish water, but I am not sure how you can tell the difference as it is all priced at New Turkish water prices!
Answer on a postcard please.

Mains water in Esentepe works out around 4.5TL per tonne and is the new stuff, we get 22.22 tonnes credit for 100TL. Our site had to pay to be connected in 2007 at the same time as we paid for 1km of tarmac road to our site.

Yes, the price of metered water in Esentepe is 4.5TL. This is confirmed on the Belediye's website at: http://www.esentepebelediyesi.com/esentepede-su-4-5-tl/ . The Google translation of the text reads:
The new water regulation prepared by our municipal council has been approved and published in the official newspaper. As a result, the amount of water consumed within the borders of Esentepe Municipality is legalized as 4.5 TL as the single figure.

Head of council won 2nd term. Water before was 4tl for first 10 tons, then went up 5tl and 6tl for 10 to 20 tons and 20+ tons. Smart metres installed at approx 300tl per household. Water 24hrs - no complaints here.

God Soner, how I wish Gekitkale or Tatlisu had taken over Bahceli and not Esentepe with the robber Baskan there.

Hi Pete,

Just paid 200tl and got 34.78 ton = 5.75

Still far to expensive considering the Belediye pay 2.75 per ton and we are still being rationed.
