After twelve years.. I can see lots of improvements that make it a nice place to reside here.
I’m fortunate our area is still a lovely quiet area..
Much Improved road work systems over the North..
Much improved utility’s.. supply and payment systems.
Lovely venues. Such as cinema bowling ice skating go carting.
Fabulous hotels for use of facilities..spas.. water park.
Wide choice of buying practically all one needs...
Great choice of supermarkets.
Any other positives ?

Thanks for posting this. All too often we hear people complaining on this forum - it's nice to hear someone being positive.

I'm sure there will be people that disagree, but I really like the people here ... the Turks and Turkish Cypriots ... especially my wife.

Firstly it is a great relaxed way of life with little stress when compared with life in the UK. Guaranteed sunshine most of the time; amazing scenery; lovely friendly people; low cost of living of income and so on and so on.... 8 years on!

After 14 years I would love living here, if it wasn't for the fact that we fell amongst thieves with our builders, amongst a thief with our (Solicitor??) and another thief in the man who owned the land. Those three are a bitter pill to swallow sadly.

We have seen so many changes over 25 years and sometimes yearn for the old days but you can't hold back progress!
In any case living near the Dartford Tunnel/Bridge we are often reminded of the benefits of life in the TRNC, recently a 10 minute car journey took 90 minutes because of the congestion at the Tunnel which clogs up surrounding roads. As a consequence we really value the air quality in Cyprus, along with the lovely people, wonderful food (and cheap eating out) and the weather.

Just a great place to live. Still miss Bluebell woods, primroses in the hedgerows and a meandering river. Not the hassle, pace and motorways though. Am truly sorry for those that have had major problems with bent solicitors, builders etc but we went through the same problems initially and thankfully had the money to buy ourselves out of trouble. I know it's not an option for most people but it was well worth the extra expenditure for total peace of mind. I also do not mind the changes we have seen over 14 years there is always room for improvement. Rock on Cyprus(north that is)

We have enjoyed the last 12 years here in every way EXCEPT we still cannot get the Kocan for our property. We paid all monies asked for by our attorney in 2006;which they stil hold, but not we are told enjoying interest, but still waiting for the Kocan.
