Is the forum upside down?
Wen I was checking my bank statements online, I would only be interested in the top few entries to make sure everything was correct, then I would have to travel all the way to the bottom of the statement, to find the exit button. I mentioned this by email to the bank, resulting in the exit button being moved to the top of the page, much more convenient. Now as to Kibkom. I read a listing and sometimes find an interesting subject. I view in "View in unread Posts", so when someone replies, the listing appears on my screen. Then I have to go down the page to find the last comment that I read and start reading any new comments. Would it not be better in a listing to have the new comments at the top so you don't have to find the last place you read and then you could just stop reading when you came to a message you had already seen? Just a thought.

I agree it would be much better to have the posts with the latest at the top - let's have a vote?

Go to 'user control panel' near top right of screen
Select Board preferences from tabs
Select 'edit display options'
Change 'Display post order direction' from 'ascending' to 'decsending' (there is also the option to control the direction for threads "
Display topic order direction:" but for posts within a thread use the ''Display post order direction'" setting)
submit changes
---------------
also from the 'view unread posts' list , provided you are logged in, if you select the small red icon that looks like
then this will take you directly to the first post you have not previously read in that thread

Re: Is the forum upside down?
Alternatively, when you see the post listed in unread posts, on the right hand side it shows the name of the most recent poster in the thread with a little arrow next to the name. If you click on the arrow it takes you to the last post in the thread. I did as Erol suggested previously but if you haven't read the thread at all and there are lots if posts, you would then have to scroll to the bottom of the thread to read from the beginning.

Re: Is the forum upside down?
I guess if everyone changes to ascending then there will be many more questions posed on the board about subjects that have already had the answer posted further down the thread - human nature triumphs yet again!
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Re: Is the forum upside down?
Now confused!!!
I did as suggested and it worked fine. Then decided that I prefer it the old way after all, but reversing my choice makes no difference and I appear to be stuck with the new format. I can live with it but would prefer to revert to the old format. Is it just me??

Must be just me, Cally. I have tried all sorts to revert to the old format, but no luck. Will just have to put up with it I guess.

At the risk of sounding obvious, are you sure that you are changing the correct option?
Looking at Erol's post, there are two choices: -
...and they do have quite different effects!1) Change 'Display post order direction' from 'ascending' to 'descending' (there is also the option to control the direction for threads )
2) Display topic order direction:" but for posts within a thread use the ''Display post order direction'" setting
