Hi
Done a bit of searching and can't find the right answer.
I have a villa with the papers in my name.
Sue, my partner has no property here and no rental contract. Cash in the bank, how do we get her residency without getting married.
Thanks in advance
Mike & Sue

I suggest you seek legal advice. It could be something that a Noter can do if the Muhtar will sign the form to say that she resides in his village.

I should think you will be fine, Cypriots do recognise dependent family members just say she is your fiancee (better buy her a big diamond ring just to make it look realistic!) & as Judy advises get a Muhtar's letter to take with you.
Probably a joint bank account would clinch it if you have one of those, you can always take the money out of it again once you have copied the statement if it does not suit your purposes to have a joint account.

I believe the subject of a Will needs to be checked on as well. I don't think its quite as straight forward as we think it is, particularly if there are children involved. Just a thought.

Gary and I do not have the same surname and since I have become a beyaz kimlik holder our marriage certificate is 'no good' so we got a letter from the noter Unsal opposite the courts who probably deals with it all the time and a form from the Muhtar stating we lived at the same address. Our friends only had problems if there was a huge age difference and they were told they had to get married or have children.
Should add the police will tell you as this is when we were told what we had to do noter and muhtar

Message 6 reply: My partner died, estate to me, 2 adult children from previous marriage. The children have had to sign a disclaimer to say they will not claim on the estate. Rather a problem if they don't sign as it will go to court, time consuming and expensive although the children are not necessarily going to win.

This will be our 15th year. Not married and nothing in my name. no problems. A very simple form to fill in when you go to the mukhtar. Basically just your names and passport details . All extremely simple. Hope that helps
