Big blaze, totally out of control, in the Turkish Quarter in Lapta this evening. Fire brigade have now got it under control and water tankers are still in attendance and JCBs are clearing up the area. Pretty alarming as the fire was jumping from tree to tree at a very fast pace. Thankfully they got it stopped just below my boundary wall!

It was frightening to see and how quickly it was spreading, looking down on it from above, we could see fresh pockets of fire starting some distance from the main blaze. Thank goodness they managed to get it under control, a huge effort was made by many.
