Are Girne civil servants on strike?

I only ask because I don't want another wasted trip to pick up my driving license as I did on Thursday last.

The car tax department was yesterday

Went to get car tax on Monday, driving licence bit was operating, but car tax on strike, bit odd as the lady who normally does the car tax was there doing something else so not so much on strike entirely, more just not doing any car tax. She called a young man over and he explained the Car Tax was on strike and didn't know how long for. If we needed tax so we could get the certificate needed to go South, he said we could go to Lefkosa as they were working there....... think we will leave it now til after Bayram.... give them plenty of time to sort themselves out....

You do not need TRNC car tax to get certificate to drive in the South just your log book & driving licence

Thanks for that Ozankoys, that is what the guy told us at the tax office, but, fair enough.... whenever we get the certificate we just show the lot.....

Thought Bayram was from 22nd.... anyone know if tax office is open on Monday please thanks
