Latching on your enquiry if I may please, Anyone knows where I can buy decent sewing cotton, rather than the pathetic stuff sold here. Hopefully someone can help us both!!

For sewing thread, I would think the Singer shop in Lefkoşa. Directions are on the Forum...

You may get both items in Lefkosa. Don't know the name of the shop but it is in the same road as China Bazaar and Lemar. If you are heading towards Metehan from Gonyeli turn left instead of turning right at the 2nd last roundabout before the crossing. The shop is in the row of shops immediately on your right hand side. It's usually quite difficult to park but if you turn into towards the shops there is a track running parallel to the main road and by doing an almost u turn you can park in front of the café a bit closer to the roundabout. You'll see what I mean when you get there. It seems to open around 10am, worth remembering if you visit en route to the South. It sells all sorts of haberdashery.
If you type google maps Lefkosa and then search for China Bazaar, you should be able to see the area. It's on opposite side of street and closer to the roundabout/Metehan than China Bazaar.
