I saw this on the BBC website and thought it was an excellent idea to remember all the brave people who gave lost their lives.

** Legion encourages online silence **
The Royal British Legion is to be the first UK organisation to use a social media tool to remind people to mark the Two Minute Silence.

Thanks for that. But it seems to be i is both good and bad. good that it does remind people to stand and think, but bad ecause itis another signal of our loss of community - people don't meet and greet, but huddle over a computer and have friends who they never touch, see or smell! (well sometimes that is not such a bad thing!)

Some people WILL NOT be able to get out to attend formal, or informal, remembrance ceremonies so this is a brilliant concept that will allow them to take part in something they may otherwise miss out on. It is not meant as a substitute but as an addition to.

I agree Marion, it is a sad reflection of our society today. In some cases though, due to location, physical ability, to name but a few it can mean that when you are alone you can be part of something meaningful and possibly help those who are isolated not feel so alone.

As this is an RBL initiative it deserves 100% support.
