I there a garage in the Lapta/Alsancak area that you can take your car too and they will sort out the emission tests and MOT for you?

Thats great thankyou.a1sysman wrote:Akay Garaj, Lapta. They will arrange all for you - you will pay of course.
Mert Garaj near Saint Tropez restaurant, Alsancak - drive in and get an emissions test there and then.
MoT at the police garage in Girne is straightforward enough too, bring your emissions test paper with you.
Akay Garaj will do the lot, start to finish, if necessary. They will also check your vehicle over and address anything that is likely to be an instant MoT fail, eg missing mudguards, service the vehicle too if you wish.EnjoyingTheSun wrote:Thats great thankyou.a1sysman wrote:Akay Garaj, Lapta. So do the emissions test at Mert Garaj first or will Akay Garaj do the lot?
How much do Akay put on roughly?
Thanks I’ll go along and see him, whereabouts in Lapta is he please?a1sysman wrote:Akay Garaj will do the lot, start to finish, if necessary. How much will Akay charge (add on charge for doing the running about)... I don't know to be honest. Costs nothing to go to Akay and ask.
Akay is a nice guy and a good mechanic to boot.
Coming from Alsancak direction, travel west along the Lapta strip to the end. Turn left up towards Villa Lambousa. Follow the road around, right and left turns, then straight up to a T junction. Turn right at the T junction. Akay Garaj is on the right hand side, about 50m from the T junction.EnjoyingTheSun wrote:Thanks I’ll go along and see him, whereabouts in Lapta is he please?

If you speak Turkish you could call Akay on 0542 851 36 39, otherwise best to visit to discuss in person. Generally someone at the garage can help out with translation or Akay phones his daughter Sermin who speaks perfect English and will translate between the two for you.
Whereabouts are you located in NC please?IPMAN wrote:Quck question re this if i may - I have lost all my paperwork for the car - MOT is due - can i get this done with out the log book? TIA

I suggest you go talk with Akay at Akay Garaj, Lapta. If anyone can help sort your MoT without car paperwork he can. Akay can also help you with what's required for replacement paperwork for your car. There will be a cost but that is for you to discuss with Akay should you wish to proceed.IPMAN wrote:Hi - in Alsancaka1sysman wrote:Whereabouts are you located in NC please?IPMAN wrote:Quck question re this if i may - I have lost all my paperwork for the car - MOT is due - can i get this done with out the log book?
