British Passport renewal change effective now

Just spotted this article stating that from last Monday, 10th September, you will no longer be able to carry forward unused validity from your old passport. There is to be an announcement later this afternoon, let's hope they rethink this Ill thought out amendment to the rules.

I heard a news headline on the radio this evening that we are going to need an International driving licence too when driving in EU.
How do we obtain one of those?

Msg 2 is about a possible BREXIT related change which may happen in the future (or not) -
Msg 1 is about an actual change which has already happened.

Think I read the other day that you can no longer get through AA and that Post Offices will find it difficult to cope with demand, especially around holiday periods.

I also heard that, when visiting an EU country post Brexit, you must be fluent in the language of the country visited.

I heard that all the names of voters in the referendum had been made public in the EU and everyone knew which way people had voted! I think that is as true as the signs on the big red bus but you never know!!!

No problem; I'm multilingual - I can speak English, Garlic, Pig Latin, Double-Dutch and Gibberish....
(and please do not ask whether I am also {another}lingual.... )

So what have all the comments got to do with renewing a passport?
