Poor Internet multimax

The service recently has been very poor. It fails completely during the day, when I ring up I generally get the recorded message that all their customer support people are busy. When I do get through I generally get a answer that the call needs to go through to their technical support and I will get a call back during working hours. When the call back comes I am asked how it is now, if it's OK I'am told to call back if it goes wrong again. Utter frustration. Just going around in circles. I am expected to pay more and more for this service, iam told prices will rise again across the board with all providers. a cartel, where is the competition. Why can't the providers publish a record on line of all the times when the service fails, this must be technically possible!

Same for me except last few times no call back. Person receiving initial call has agreed internet speed is very slow and will pass on to technical services who will call when they have an answer as to why so slow. Can only assume there is no answer.

I had a problem the other day, sent them an email, got a ticket number back then a short time later a further mail saying the problem had been fixed, I checked and it had. Never had any real service issues with them.
As for cartel, I don't follow that, it is true perhaps that all prices will go up however when MM started they provided and to my mind still provide more speed for your money, people left others in droves because they were so much more competitive so I think if anyone is going to make accusations of cartel influence they should provide evidence.

Jonnie, was it not the case last year that all providers put their prices up at the same time by around the same amount. The vets , who I think still give exceptional value for money, we're told to do the same thing. I am just repeating the information I was given in both of these cases!

The vets I believe are required by (the veterinary dept to charge a certain scale of charges). Barber shops are the same. I am not aware of any requirement on internet providers perhaps one of the providers can speak out on this.
Cartel to me would suggest price fixing between the ISPs on a like for like basis to restrict competition. I am with MM as for me, in this order, the service is best (was previously with extend and another who were not up to speed on legal requirements), the speeds available where I live are second to none, when I was looking I considered the price (then similar to extend) was fair as the speeds being delivered were far in excess of what extend could for similar money.

Internet Service Providers Association meets regularly to discuss various issues.
It is no secret that 90% of Internet Service Providers costs are pegged to foreign currencies.
Last year, when rates were going up, we had several meetings discussing the best approach, from selling rooftop equipment to charging customers for every on-site visit to other various suggestions. It was eventually agreed that in order not to confuse customers or change to an untried system, the best approach is to adjust prices according to costs.
Decisions we take as Association are not binding. However In financial situations like this it is quite easy to make a wrong decision or sometimes even an indecision that would harm the sector and prevent it from moving forward.
Association believes all Internet Service Providers need to be profit making and financially strong in order to provide best quality of service as possible. Anything short of this is only short lived and does nothing but harm the sector and generate unhappy customers in the medium to long run.
There are 30 active ISPs on this island for 300thousand people (1 for 10thousand people. UK has 200 for 65 million, 1 for 325thousand). Trust me, there is enough competition to go around.

When does the agreement signed with Turkey to increase the internet speed to NC a few months ago start?

But there is competition on the island.
