Hi, does anyone know where I could take a couple of canvas pictures to get frames fitted please. I have just recently brought them over here but they were too big to fit in my suitcase so I had to take them off the frames. Thanks

There is an art and picture framing shop near the state hospital in Girne. Coming from Çatalköy, pass state hospital on the right, then the key shop. The framing shop is a bit further on the right.

Hi

Choice here is very limited but having just had quite a bit done and the best I’ve found is ‘Art Gallery’ in Girne on Bellapais Hill, go past Akin Motors up the hill and it’s on the right just before the small island. They speak English.

Their phone number is 0533 866 5114.

Kind regards

Lasagne

But beware the sample you pick does not resemble what you get, sadly. That was our experience and we refused 3 times to accept the frame. Got it home eventually but not what we ordered from the Art Gallery sample. It detracts from the picture. Not at all happy with it but after 3 attempts what we have is a heavily stained pine frame. IKEA would have been a better choice.

I have found that the shop near the Girne State hospital does an excellent job, and delivers exactly what you ask for...

I agree with KC, and we have had some good work from the people downstairs in the Deniz Plaza shop by the Garanti Bank and Akay Optic. We have also used the art gallery on the slight hill before you get to Bellapaise crossroads, next door to the LARGE Magic Touch. Warning....the parking is absolutely dreadful. Don't use them for copying a painting though. They can never get the colour correct.
