Problem.with the water pumping station or pipeline!

I have just seen a post on the Alsancak, Lapta and Girne FB pages that there is a problem with the pumping station or pipeline from Turkey (take your pick) and we can expect no water for at least 3 days. These messages were posted yesterday and people are being asked to conserve water. Back to the good old days then!

No water in Karaman for most residents since Saturday. Apparently there is a broken pipe which will be fixed tomorrow!

My water in Catalkoy gets turned off at 06:00 every morning and back on again around 18:00 every night, apart from weekends when it just gets turned off on Friday and back on again sometime on a Monday. Has been that way for the last 5 years - apparently there is a broken pump or a pipe or a problem or any combination of them and will always be fixed on Monday! The Turkish water did arrive - I brought it home in a bucket from the new dam just so I could say I had some when the price went up! It's Cyprus and I have a well, always have a belt to go with your braces and a bit of string as well helps - lol.

...well, it will automatically go to the top as soon as anyone gets some news and posts it on here - I don't see the point of keeping it at the top with old news just for the sake of it.

Water has been off since Saturday morning in Esentepe, it's just started coming through in the last hour or two but the outage may not be connected to the Girne problem.

We are on outskirts of Esentepe. Our water was on Saturday at 7am but off by mid morning, came on again yesterday afternoon at full pelt but was off again this morning. Who knows what's going on? Probably not the Belediye lol.

Most of Karaman has water now.....but not where I live as this part is having new main water pipes laid. Looks like the job could take a good few days yet....and, because the narrow road has been dug up with trenches at the sides and across the road, no tankers etc. can reach us. Ho hum!

'Drinking ones own urine' eh? we dream of being able to do that west of the Lapta strip. It's been days now without a drop of mains water and to say we are a tad 'parched' is an under statement. . There's tumbleweed blowing down the road and a desert forming. What do those who did away with their water tanks because of the new Turkish water mains think now? Just managed to get a water tanker in to top up our water tank. Had started to seriously wonder if we needed to leave NC.

We had a tank of water through the pipes early Wednesday morning, I was wondering if it is from the wells. Alsancak have said they will.supply a tanker if you are.getting low and it should be free of charge.
Just.how much longer can this go on, I am dreaming of a long hot shower, may have to book into a hotel for the night!

Update-day 6 without water.
To compound problems,I am now short of the precious amber liquid in order to make Urine based G+Ts .
I am appealing to fellow kibcommers for more supplies-top quality only please from healthy kidneys,no vegan or teetotaler appreciated.

In Karaman we have been used to no MAINS water for lengthy periods, some people experiencing 2-3 weeks on occasions. Best thing to do is have large storage tanks.

At a time when in most countries services such as a good internet connection is a basic right, I find it crazy that people are having to go without a service such as running water. It’s crazy.

Mrs D......if you are in Esentepe you should have water now.........check meter display,if you are in credit and Kontrol is showing on display insert your card and press black button until beep sounds and you will hear motor whirring, this will then open your meter. The meters often randomly lock for no reason but seem to lock more when supply interrupted.
Worth a try.

We have water - it is running down the road from where the Belli are in the progress of widening the road at the top of our race track - sorry I mean hill - so water is here at last. In fact there is so much water down the road that it has formed a small lake in a secondary road off the race track, guess I will be out with a bucket later on today for some free water - lol.
