For those of you with Kindles and an Amazon account, I find this site absolutely brilliant!

http://www.kuforum.co.uk/free_ebooks/latest/

You can sign up for a daily email that advises you of all free books available split into different headings and then you can just download! I tend to do once a week as you can pick an option of books 'free since you last looked' (or words similar..)

That is great, thank you. I normally go on Amazon and takes me ages to troll through everything.

Have you an amazon account? although you don't actually pay anything you do need one to download I think? If you have check your internet is 'registered 'on it, when I moved here I had to change mine over.

Hi yes we have an Amazon account and it is registered with them however I recently e.mailed them about buying books etc and received this reply: Since you're living in Turkey, it is not possible to purchase Kindle contents from any of our Amazon partner's website. I'm sorry any inconvenience may caused.

It is not a desperate problem as have managed to download books through search engines but it is just annoying that I can't get any of the ones they have that I may want.

If you have a friend in the US, ask mermission to use their address and register yourself as a user in the US. Then you can download any US content onto your Kindle.

Many thanks for all suggestions. The only other reason I can think of is that we don't have 'wi-fi' so not able to activate that on the Kindle.

I have never had an Amazon account nor do I understand why I need one or what the advantage is.

I download from Isohunt, Pirate Bay, Torrentz etc. on to my computer and then transfer books onto my Kindle via USB using Calibre software (which also converts any Ebook format into Epub).

What am I missing from Amazon??

My husband does download from Torrent so have lots to choose from, but its nice to browse Amazon selections but a bit of a bind if I find something I would like then have to make a note of the author and title so that I can get it from a dowload elsewhere although worth the hassle if it is one that Amazon wants you to pay for.

karmels - I very much doubt it. I downloaded the blueray version of Earth 2012 from Pirate Bay only 2 days ago....

On the subject of websites I like this one. You can look up any fiction author and get a complete list of their books.

JBA.

Are you living in the TRNC??
As every search bring up this wesite is unavailable. This website is blocked by Turkey, I thought it had closed pending a court hearing.

Yes I live in TRNC. My ISP is Multimax (who else?) but I don't need their vpn to access Pirate Bay. The only site that has disappeared recently is Demonoid who were shut down by the Ukrainian government.

Did my link work for you?

JBA.
Your link to fantasticfiction is no problem, but the link to pirate bay is blocked, my server is Sunny Cyprus so I will have to inquire if they have blocked this website.
In the past I have downloaded some great films from PB, then they got involved in a court case, I thought they had pulled the plug, maybe it was this end not wanting to get involved??

Thanks for the links.
Mel.

If the 'direct' link to pirate bay is locked, try malaysiabay.org, which should provide similar access
