Despite the topic being about keeping in warm in winter here in the TRNC there is also a discussion about ordering from Amazon that may help you.

I regularly order from Amazon and get it delivered here to Dipkarpaz. They will tell you if they deliver a particular item to your address or not. It usually takes about 3 weeks or so. I never order over 50 pounds in value.

You should contact the seller and spesifically tell them to dispatch with REGULAR MAIL. If you can't, try your luck with ebay.
FBA deliveries (Fullfilment by Amazon) are sent with i-Parcel (an Amazon dispatch service) and get lost in oblivion.

How is the item actually delivered?
Would the item need to be signed for or will it just be left on our doorstep, given that my house doesn’t have a letter box.

Amazon items are delivered via postal service to my house, that is to say - my friends husband and neighbour is mates with the postmaster. They meet at the coffee house and my parcels are delivered by my friend. I would go to your post office, introduce yourself. My postmaster is on facebook, I message him when I expect something and he tells me when it's arrived
