You can no longer purchase E visa at the self service kiosk at airport, must be done before travel.

Not wanting to hijack your post, but it is related - do UK citizens need a visa if they are travelling to Ercan via Turkey?

Passengers "in transit" do not require a visa unless there is a delay and you have to pass into the non-transit area of the airport - you then need one. How to obtain it if you cannot now acquire it at the airport beggars belief. No doubt somebody will know the answer. I suppose you could always get one 'just in case' at £20.

Assuming your in UK you could contact.... https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/feedback/ for confirmation of what to do.

Make sure you travel with the same airline right the way through. Then if there is a delay (say overnight) they would be responsible for obtaining visa as well as food and accommodation

You would think they were responsible but trust me they didn’t for me. I then tried to receive compensation for being stuck at the airport and was rejected. I was business class too and they still wouldn’t address the visa . I had to do it myself

Similar situation with TA. Individual responsibility to obtain the visa.
