I crossed the border at Metehan yesterday and was stopped on the South side. They searched my car and bags. Fortunately all I had was empty shopping bags but haven't been searched for years on the South.

I was behind a GC registered car who was checked last week, quite thoroughly. They didn't stop me though.

Same here smiler. I was waved through after the GC car in front of me had been practically taken apart. They had also closed that LH lane that tbe GCs normally use to whizz through.

I suspect that they are trying to discourage those buying our cheaper petrol, and taking it back in cans.

Maybe they have realised how much revenue they are losing.

Early morning and they stopped our driver. They picked cases
They wanted to check and had a good rumage through - seemed to be
looking for cigarettes ... we didn’t Have anything anyway only dirty washing !!

We were stopped in August the Taxi driver had said about the one customs man who revels in his job

And it was him who pulled over our taxi

He wanted to check our bags we were within the allowable limits for tobacco

Then he wanted to check the suitcases

PROBLEM our suitcases zips are tied together in a knot with no ends they have to be cut open .....He didn't have a blade or scissors
Plus he had the wife ranting at him for doubting her word
He retreated
don't like flying South but price was cheap
