Can you register a greek car in the TRNC
My friend has a greek car as they used to live in the south in Paphos - the authorities have caught up with them as they now live here although they go over at least twice a month for a few days each time to see friends. They were told to immediately get the car onto the other side - ie South.
I am sure that people have registered greek cars here - or am I wrong.
Does anyone know the regulations here in the TRNC re greek car registration/or not, because I know you can register other countries cars!!
Thanks for any advise

I think you mean a RoC registered vehicle. I am unaware of any Greek made vehicles. Previous posters have stated it is not possible, but the only real answer is for your friend to seek 'official' TRNC advice from Lefkosa Vehicle Registration. Governmental rules change here by the week so what may have been possible last week is not doable now or vice versa.katecornwell wrote:My friend has a greek car as they used to live in the south in Paphos - the authorities have caught up with them as they now live here although they go over at least twice a month for a few days each time to see friends. Any vehicle originating from 'outside of the TRNC' would need to be properly imported and import duty paid if it is to be kept here for longer than the permitted period - even if it is periodically driven across the Green Line.
A few years ago, many owners of ROC registered cars had their vehicles confiscated for trying to evade the importation regulations and not pay tax.

I do not think it is possible but you need to check with the Customs Office.
