West side I have been told there is a good cobbler in Karaoglanoglu.
Coming from Girne on the old road (NOT dual carriageway) take the left turning to Edremit/Karaman...cobblers is on the right shortly after turning ...a small shop at end of a low building just after Karaoglanoglu Belediyese, where you may be better parking.

This gentleman is very good. He soled my husband's humongous Timberland boots (size 13) when nobody else could and renewed the leather soles on my favourite boots and restitched them.

Can't recommend the Karaoglanoglu man highly enough. He's just finished making a pair of leather shoes for my husband and they are amazing. You won't be disappointed at all. Will also repair handbags, suitcases, make lovely leather belts etc.

Does anyone know the opening times of the shoe repair man in Karaoglanoglu please?

It varies a tad, dependant on how busy he is but should be 10.00 to 12.15ish and 2ish to 4.30ish. He's never hugely far out but you might need to pop somewhere and have a cupper to pass the time. Café behind Tempo is fine. Well worth the hassle though. Its an eye opener when you go into his tiny little establishment.

You're not wrong there...

I took a leather bag in for a zip repair job, and offered to give him my name and contact details, he said "I don't need your name, I've got your bag!"

Update. The cobbler behind the Colony hotel us no longer in business, all closed up and gone. The shoe repair man just up from 1001 shop is there sometimes but not open this morning and neighbouring shops say they do not know what his hours of business are. The lovely man in Karaoglanoglu is open from just after 8am to 12 and reopens 2pm until 5pm. I managed to catch him this morning just before he shut for lunch and he confirmed his hours.

That's great, but they do vary a little bit on occasions. Have been going to him for years for repairs to bags, belts, suitcases as well as shoes. He loves it when I go in with a pair of genuine leather shoes. And as for my cow hide bag, he even stroked the leather!! Lovely man.
