Are local schools and banks open tomorrow? It's not on my calender as a holiday and I want to avoid a wasted journey into Girne if the schools and banks are not open.

Thank you. I have the Kuskor calender and it does not indicate tomorrow as a holiday. Thank you for your responses.

On the Kuskor calendar it has yesterday, 19th, as the holiday. If you Google Mohammad's birthday, you get 22nd April . If you Google Mevlid Kandii you get various dates in November, including 19th and 20th. I suspect each country celebrating decides which day the public holiday will fall on, so may be difficult for Calendar designers to get it right.

I counted 17 Public Holidays on that Calendar, granted three of those days are at weekend but that still leaves about twice the number of holidays granted in most western European countries.
Not good for the Economy and GDP of this country or for small businesses who need to fund that time off for their employees and do essential services and Supermarkets who stay open have to pay overtime rates? What is the amount of time allowed over here for annual leave?

TT the tone of your post suggests that you may have been employed by a Company which voluntarily allowed their employees to take PAID holidays on 'Bank Holidays' in the UK.

There is no statutory right for employees to take bank holidays off work. see: -
