Hi all. Is it worth shopping around for quotes. For basic 3rd party insurance. Or are they all much the same?

No, they are not. We have had much cheaper quotes and offers of price matching and to beat quotes. Also, compare what service you get i.e. does it cover you for breakdown/recovery north and south? Also applies to house insurance. Ask around, does the insurance company have a good record, payout fully, fairly and promptly? Just because the agent (on 20% commission) is English doesn't automatically mean the best value quote so it is worth shopping around.

Hector, the question was about basic 3rd party insurance - I think that everything that you wrote applies to Comprehensive policies

Thanks for the replies. I only need basic 3rd party insurance. Car is 28 years old. Will stick with Commecial never had an problems

and how much is the average for the cheapest insurance?
