Bitch and her 4 white beautiful pups has turned up in Lapta near Babel Gardens. Bitch is short white cross. All look healthy. Bitch has no collar. Does anyone know anything about them? Kar won't take them and lapta Belidiye don't want to know

Lets hope she has an owner but then they have to find a home for 4 puppies.

I think we all would like the answer to; what to do? where to go?

Heaven. I heard there is a local charity for homeless animals called The Silent Ones. They guarantee they will get back to callers within 24hrs. Give them a call on 05488611920. Let us know how you get on please. This is everyones nightmare here. As snd1966 writes it is so hard to turn a blind eye.

Tried the number, it says not assigned. Lapta Belediyesi said they would send someone but did not say when

I suspect if Lapta come to pick them up they will pts as they have no shelter. Girne do but will only take in from their area

Are the mum and puppies somewhere covered it’s very cold tonight?

If it’s a local person that maybe has lost the dog it’s worth posting on some of local animal charities if you use facebook

Did KAR really say they wouldn't take them or did they say that there is a waiting list coz of their quarantine process ? Our friends had some pups weeks before Xmas dumped on their road and reported them to KAR - they had them checked over by the vet in Alsancak and they were put on KAR waiting list.
It was explained about the quarantine for everything that now goes into KAR (understand that because of what happened earlier this year - so sad) and that when there was space in the quarantine unit then they could take the pups up there at an agreed time and day.
They then rang to say they had space and they could take them - this was before Xmas but luckily our friends had found homes for the pups - but had forgotton to tell KAR so they could take them off their list.
Maybe they cannot help straight away but i am sure they will help the puppies if they can. unlike the municipalities who we are told take them away (if they even bother) and dump them somewhere else coz they haven't anywhere to put them. They have not built the shelters they are meant to have coz they haven't go the money they say.

There are a few people on this Forum who seem to be totally incapable of getting their facts right re KAR. Do they truly want KAR to say yes, we'll take them and to hell with the consequences. It was people that like that were wholly responsible for the Distemper epidemic and those hundred or more dogs dying as a result. Everyone thinks the puppies they have found are more important and more tragic than others found in equally distressing conditions. But they are not, all of them are as tragic as the other and thank heaven KAR now have a strict quarantine procedure which has to be adhered to. To say that KAR "refused to take them" is disingenuous. The quarantine procedure will continue no matter what. If someone contacts KAR at a time when the quarantine cages are free they will take them, if not, they won't.

Sorry ljarvo can't help at all. I know no more than is on this forum. I just felt I had to defend KAR as a result of a couple of pointed remarks.

The puppies and the mother are being collected by KAR this morning. (Monday), they will be vet checked and taken to the centre for quarantine and then hopefully rehoming.
