Pruning of yellow jasmine

I put a post in Gardening but wonder how many people look at that. So I would like to know how to get yellow flowering jasmine to flower. I see lots of them around and they are covered in blooms but mine is lovely with lush green growth but almost no flowers. Should I prune it hard and when?

Honestly the stuff grows like a weed around here. We just get the saw out and more less hack at the branches that are becoming a nuisance or getting too big. Not what a gardener would call pruning though!!!

I have a lot of the stuff. Amount of flower varies according to direction (ie amount of sun) . South facing does best.
I prune after flowering is over, mainly to shape the bushes but as for most plants cutting slantwise about 2cm from an outward facing bud where possible. During flowering, I often cut the longer untidy branches for indoor flower arrangements. The beauty of this plant is that is gives a bright colour to house and garden when others are resting.
