Problem sending SMS messages

Have tried 4 times to send a message from my phone this morning to anotherphone here in TRNC. Each time a message appeared on my screen "message not sent, try again" Finally I made a phone call. It appears that people with smart phones, trying to send a message to a non smart phones are having problem. Its an intermittent problem but becoming more common all the time. Its a smart phone not sending, rather than the basic phone not receiving. I'm sure your techies will be able explain the reasoning, something to do with pulse speed (or some such) .
