Thanks.

Pedantic I concede. The crossing point here does not involve either Greek or RoC immigration services. It is maintained under the control of the British Sovereign Base Area HM Customs and Excise authority. I am unsure of the contact details for the insurance office but if you discover them, please publish them and opening times.

If you are using a Paphos-based hire car, ask the company to organise the insurance cover for you. There will be a surcharge added but you'll have peace of mind. Flight delays, baggage, immigration, the volume of traffic etc can all add to the journey time to Metehan.

The company I booked through said I had to buy insurance at the border, but I will ask when I pick it up. Saves worrying weather we get there on time.
Thanks

I get my insurance here almost every month, the office is open 7 days a week, not sure of times. The customs have put bollards in the road so you have to park on the waste ground on the left after you leave check point and walk back to office.

Sorry, that will be too late. Ask the company again. If it says no, change to Petsas, as this company will do it for you and add €20 to the cost making €45 in total. Bon voyage.

I enquired about closing times of the insurance kiosk on the TC side some time ago and the guy told me that they have no fixed closing time. Sometimes they are there until 10pm and sometimes until 1am. Definitely better to get a hire car from a company who gets the insurance for you if you have any doubt about your timings.

I asked at Metehan when we returned from the South today and was told 7am to midnight 'normally', I specifically asked about Saturdays.

Can anyone tell me what time the Greek side kiosks stay open until? I am planning to travel over next Thursday at around 17.00 and want to avoid going the day before if possible. Many thanks

You could try emailing Minerva insurance: info@minervacy.com The branch at the crossing is in Andrea Kariou.

Though I think they are open beyond 5pm, it's better to check.
